Train vs. truck accident in Jefferson City

Update: Friday, May 4th at 10:50 a.m.:

The driver of the pickup truck in the fatality accident that occurred in the 1700 block of Industrial Drive yesterday has been identified as Michael Lee Bosch, age 29, of Holts Summit, Missouri. Bosch was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident.

Traffic Accident Reconstructionists from the Jefferson City Police Departmentâ??s Traffic Unit are still investigating possible causes of in the incident.

A man died late Thursday night after a crash involving pickup truck and a train in Jefferson City.

It happened in the 1700 block of Industrial Drive at about 11 p.m. Thursday night.

The Jefferson City Police Department said the truck was headed eastbound while the train was backing up westbound, crossing Industrial Drive when they collided.

The driver of the pickup truck was pinned in his truck and had to be extricated by emergency crews and later died.

"We've taken measurements, spoken to all of the people aboard the train, so on and so forth. It's still under investigation at this time,â?? Jefferson City Police Dept. Captain Doug Shoemaker said. â??We're not identifying who the driver of the truck is as of yet pending family notification and positive ID."

Police are still investigating the accident.
