American Red Cross Heart of Missouri Chapter volunteers are helping a Cole County family of four who lost their mobile home in a fire.
It happened Sunday evening in the Apache Flats area.
Firefighters on the scene told KRCG 13 that someone came to their station just two blocks away to report the fire.
No one was home at the time.
Authorities do not yet know a cause.
Red Cross volunteers met with the family, and provided financial resources for them to meet their immediate emergency needs with the purchase of food, clothing and a temporary motel stay.
The family, two adults and two children under the age of 10, also received comfort kits, which contain personal hygiene items, and referrals to local partner agencies.
Volunteers will follow up on the family??s recovery process.
