Toddler hit by car in stable condition

The toddler hit by a car earlier this week is in stable condition.

The toddler struck by a car earlier this week is in stable condition, according to the Versailles Police Department.

The 15-month-old had visible injuries to her upper left shoulder and the left side of her head after being struck by a 2003 Pontiac Bonneville.

Police say the girl's father was driving the car at the time.

He told police he was backing out of the driveway of his Jefferson Street home when he heard a thud. When he stopped the car he saw his daughter lying on the ground.

The toddler was taken by ambulance to Tipton where they met a Life Flight crew. She was flown to Columbia Women's and Children's Hospital.

Police say the girl's outlook is positive.

Police are calling the incident an accident.
