Three people died in traffic crashes on Missouri roadways over the 2014 Labor Day weekend, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
This year's counting period began Friday, August 29 at 6 p.m. and ended Monday, September 1 at 11:59 p.m.
During that period, Highway Patrol investigated 293 crashes that resulted in 111 injuries, in addition to the three deaths.
Eighty people were arrested for driving while intoxicated.
During the same counting period last year, there were eight fatalities and 119 DWI arrests.
There were no boating fatalities in the 2014 counting period, although troopers investigated 11 boating crashes resulting in four injuries.
In addition, 13 people were arrested for boating while intoxicated.
There were no reported drownings.
