      Three injured in downtown Columbia shooting


      The Boone County prosecutor charged 20-year-old Eric Cravens Wednesday with three-counts of first-degree assault resulting in serious physical injury and armed criminal action.

      On Wednesday the Columbia Street Crimes Unit arrested Cravens in connection with the downtown Columbia shooting.

      The arrest was made after an investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division.

      Officers stopped Cravens at 3500 Clark Lane and then arrested him.

      Cravens has a cash-only bond of $300,000 for all of his charges.

      Three people were injured in a shooting in downtown Columbia early Saturday morning.

      Police say officers in the area of Tenth Street and Broadway heard shots fired at 12:26 a.m.

      One victim was found in the street near 920 Broadway with multiple gunshot wounds to his lower body.

      A second victim was taken to University Hospital in a personal vehicle with a gunshot wound to the hand.

      A third victim was found during a traffic stop. The extent of his injuries are unknown at this time.

      Officers found eight shell casings at the scene.

      There is no suspect information available right now. The investigation is ongoing.
