The Missouri State Highway Patrol confirmed through social media that a third person was arrested in connection to the shooting death of Clinton Police Officer Gary Michael.

In a tweet, the highway patrol said "Jacob Johnson, of Clinton, has been charged with hindering prosecution of a felony by Henry CO PA Richard Shields."

On August 10, Henry County prosecutors filed a charge against a man accused of disposing the rifle allegedly used to kill Officer Gary Michael.

Online court records show 35-year-old William Noble was charged Thursday with Tampering With Physical Evidence in Felony Prosecution, a class E felony.

Noble allegedly threw the rifle into a body of water where troopers later found it Thursday.

Ian McCarthy, 39, was arrested and taken into custody August 8 after a two day manhunt.

McCarthy was charged with first-degree murder, armed criminal action and unlawful possession of a firearm in the death of 37-year-old Officer Gary Michael.

McCarthy suffered a gunshot wound from the incident, according to officials.
