Fri, 25 Jul 2014 12:39:40 GMT — After a brief break, the heat is coming back to Mid-Missouri. As a warm front slides east on Friday, temperatures will return to the 90s. Saturday could bring the hottest temperatures of the year in the mid-upper 90s. Moisture levels will be increasing through Saturday evening pushing the heat index into the lower 100s.A cold front will be to the north of the area Saturday. That will be the focus for scattered showers and thunderstorms, possibly as early as Saturday morning. While chances are somewhat low, the best opportunity for storms will be during the peak heating hours of the day (the afternoon and evening) and into the nighttime hours. Some of the storms could be severe with wind and hail as the main threats. Thunderstorm chances come to an end by Sunday morning.Follow the KRCG 13 StormVision Weather Team for the latest updates. www.connectmidmissouri.com/weather
