Mon, 26 Aug 2013 14:44:12 GMT — While this summer has been cooler on average compared to the summer of 2012, above normal temperatures are making a return this week. Highs will be in the lower-mid 90s every day with lots of sunshine. The heat index will slowly be on the rise and eventually cause temperatures to feel like they are in the 100s by Wednesday.Since there haven't been many consistent "hot" days such as these this year, the effects may be greater on at-risk groups (elderly, children). Those participating in outdoor activities should stay hydrated, take frequent breaks and be aware of the weather conditions - especially during the peak heating hours of the afternoonThe KRCG 13 StormVision weather department will monitor the situation and provide updates as they become available.
