The cold continues

The winds were a bit lighter on Friday morning, but it didn't provide much relief. Temperatures across Mid-MO were well below zero with mostly clear skies. Clouds will slowly increase during the morning hours with winds light from the south. Those southerly winds will help warm us up a bit for the afternoon as highs flirt with the 20s - still nearly 20 degrees below normal.

As clouds linger tonight, low temperatures won't be quite as brutal as we fall into the mid-upper teens. The first of several weak, upper-air disturbances will roll through late Friday into Saturday bringing a chance of flurries and light snow. Accumulations, if any, will be minor. Less than half an inch of snow is expected across the viewing area.
