Tue, 07 May 2013 15:20:17 GMT — Authorities are searching for a Columbia teen after a car chase Monday night. Around 10 p.m., deputies in the 2100 Block of Prathersville Road saw a vehicle driving carelessly. When a deputy tried to stop the vehicle, the driver - 18-year-old Timothy Midgyett, Jr. - didn't stop.Instead, he led deputies on a short vehicle pursuit, from Prathersville Road to the intersection of Highway 763 and Smiley Lane. That's where Midgyett got out of his vehicle and ran from the area.A passenger in the vehicle was detained for a short period of time and released without arrest. Authorities said that person is not a suspect in this incident.During a search of the vehicle, authorities found several packages of marijuana that were packaged in a manner consistent with the drug being prepared for sale.The Boone County Sheriffâ??s Department is seeking information on the whereabouts of Midgyett in order to arrest him for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, resisting arrest, driving while suspended and careless and imprudent driving
