Teen on the run after chase in Boone County

Authorities are looking for 18-year-old Timothy Midgyett Jr. in order to arrest him for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, resisting arrest, driving while suspended and careless and imprudent driving

Authorities are searching for a Columbia teen after a car chase Monday night.

Around 10 p.m., deputies in the 2100 Block of Prathersville Road saw a vehicle driving carelessly.

When a deputy tried to stop the vehicle, the driver - 18-year-old Timothy Midgyett, Jr. - didn't stop.

Instead, he led deputies on a short vehicle pursuit, from Prathersville Road to the intersection of Highway 763 and Smiley Lane. That's where Midgyett got out of his vehicle and ran from the area.

A passenger in the vehicle was detained for a short period of time and released without arrest. Authorities said that person is not a suspect in this incident.

During a search of the vehicle, authorities found several packages of marijuana that were packaged in a manner consistent with the drug being prepared for sale.

The Boone County Sheriffâ??s Department is seeking information on the whereabouts of Midgyett in order to arrest him for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, resisting arrest, driving while suspended and careless and imprudent driving
