The 16-year-old charged with murder and armed criminal action against a 63-year-old man had bonded out of jail.

Zacchaeus Silva, of Jefferson City, was placed on house arrest after posting a $100,000 surety bond.

Silva was charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action after authorities said he beat Jerry Robertson with a floor jack handle the night of April 20.

Police had responded to the 1400 block of East Miller Street the evening of April 21, and found Robertson had sustained several wounds from blunt force trauma, a release stated.

A judge had ordered Thursday morning that Silva be transferred from the juvenile court system to the general court system.
