Suspect on the loose after high speed chase
Members of the Maries County and Osage County Sheriff's Offices were involved in a high speed chase that went from Maries County into Osage County and then Cole County early Tuesday morning.
The suspect attempted to flee from the deputy by brake checking and driving over 100 mph before the suspect turned and traveled back to Osage County.
The suspect crashed his car near 5th Street in Meta before fleeing on foot and evading deputies.
Deputies canvassed the area to no avail. They are asking for Meta residents to be on the look out, and make sure their vehicles and residences are locked.
They located several suspected items of stolen property, a shotgun, and ammunition inside the suspects vehicle. Deputies were also able to locate fingerprints and DNA from inside the vehicle.
There will be an update as soon as more details surface.
