Students injured in Jefferson City bus crash

Four children and two adults were treated for injuries after a school bus and Kia collided Friday morning in Jefferson City.

At about 7:30 a.m., the bus was traveling westbound on Eastland when the Kia, which was exiting the drive from Lewis and Clark Middle, School, tried to turn eastbound onto Eastland and the two vehicles collided.

Three children reported minor injuries and were taken by ambulance to a local hospital. A fourth child was taken for treatment by a parent after the adult responded to the school.

The Kia's driver had moderate injuries, while the bus driver had minor injuries. Both were taken by ambulance to a local hospital.

The other 35 children on the bus were met by school officials and health care staff.

The incident was cleared about an hour after the crash. Traffic Section officers are investigating the cause of the crash.
