State minimum wage increases to $7.85 for 2018
JEFFERSON CITY —
State minimum wage workers will get a bump in hourly pay next year.
The Missouri Department of Labor announced Monday the minimum wage of $7.85 will take effect in 2018, a 15-cent increase from the current rate. All businesses are required to pay at minimum, the $7.85 hourly rate, except retail and service businesses whose annual gross sales are less than $500,000, a release from MODOL stated.
By Jan. 1, 2018, the state minimum wage wil have increased five times in the last six years.
