Snow continues to cover mid-Missouri

Light to moderate snow is expected to continue throughout mid-Missouri into this evening.

By mid-evening snowfall amounts should range from two to four inches across eastern Kansas and western Missouri. Snow will continue to push eastward across the region until late this evening and overnight. Total snowfall will range from three to five inches with local heavier snowfall amounts possible.strong winds will result in blowing snow and dangerous wind. By Friday expect dangerous wind chills to persist through Saturday morning.Early this morning in Columbia traffic is slow going. Plow trucks were out in full force trying to keep the snow from accumulating.Highway patrol troopers say they worked a few minor accidents, and several slide-offs overnight. But few vehicles have been on the road.Road crews have been working all night to clear the roads for this morning's commute.
