Showers and thunderstorms are possible for Memorial Day
By Dan Ebner
Sun, 25 May 2014 23:11:32 GMT — A few showers and rumbles of thunder are possible overnight Sunday. These could linger into the morning hours on Monday, but should come to an end early. For the most part, Monday morning will be mostly sunny and dry across the area. Things will change a bit in the afternoon as we will have a warm and very muggy air-mass in place. Starting anytime after the noon hour, widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop across Mid-Missouri. Monday will not be a wash out, but there will be pockets of showers and thunderstorms through the afternoon and evening. While severe weather is not expected with these storms, a few of these storms could have extremely heavy rain and frequent and dangerous lightning anytime tomorrow afternoon. Showers and thunderstorms should diminish during the evening hours as we lose the heating from the sun.
