Shots fired at Chuck E. Cheese Restaurant in Columbia

Update: Monday, February 20th at 9:55 a.m.:

Columbia Police said a man inside the Chuck E. Cheese Restaurant was the target of a Sunday night shooting.

Police were dispatched around 6:45 Sunday night to the business at 2003 W. Worley Street in reference to shots fired.

Officers said the â??targetedâ?? man was seen on surveillance video for Chuck E. Cheese. He was seen in the lobby and in front of the business. Then, a few minutes later he was seen ducking and running while shots were being fired.

Officers shut down Worley Street to preserve evidence and talk with witnesses.

The Forensic Evidence Team recovered rounds from inside the restaurant and on the street. No one was injured during the shooting.

Detectives are investigating and developing leads on a possible suspect and motive. But, no arrests have been made.

Police were called to the Chuck E. Cheese Restaurant at the Corner of Worley and Stadium Blvd.just before 7 p.m. Sunday for shots fired.

Witnesses reported shots fired at the building.

Tiffany Hernandez was inside the building and said it was a scary situatioon with people panicking and huddling in the back of the restaurant.

"Suddenly everybody is screaming and I'm like what in the world is going on and the get on the intercom and say there has been a shooting and I thought they said there was a robber so I'm looking around for a mass gunman and my child's father was like what did they say," Hernandez said.

Witnesses said there were between 6 and 8 shell casings found.
