Shoplifters hid stolen goods under 12-day-old baby

Two 17-year-olds and a 19-year-old who used a 12-day-old baby and its car seat to hide stolen items were arrested Sunday evening.

Two 17-year-olds and a 19-year-old who used a 12-day-old baby and its car seat to hide stolen items were arrested Sunday evening.

Osage Beach police officers went to the Wal-Mart Supercenter just before 8 p.m. after receiving a call about two females and a male shoplifting.

The three people arrested â?? 19-year-old Tara Lewis, 17-year-old Dustin Metcalf and 17-year-old Genevieve Hill-Deasure, all of Camdenton â?? were charged with stealing by shoplifting under $500. The proper authorities were contacted for endangering the welfare of a child, according to a news release.

Lewis, Metcalf and Hill-Deasure tried to hide stolen items under the baby in its car seat, which is dangerous for the infant.
