Our first round of severe weather is possible later tonight. Clouds have already rolled in and rain/storms are starting to form in Eastern Kansas as of 3pm. These storms will pick up in intensity this evening and will begin impacting the central Missouri area after 6pm.
Our main threat from the storms tonight will be the possibility for golf ball size hail and localized flooding. The highest likelihood for large hail and severe thunderstorms will come overnight into the early morning on Thursday.
This is a good opportunity to make sure you have a plan in place. If you have WeatherCall you should login and make sure your account is still active. You can do that by going to the WeatherCall Login Page. WeatherCall uses storm-based warnings to send warning messages to the phone numbers you register. It works with all phones.
You can also check out MyWarn. MyWARN delivers critical, life-saving severe weather alerts from the National Weather Service to its users within seconds of them being issued. This app is available for Android and iPhone users.
As always you can follow the storm on your computer.
