Seven-time convicted felon arrested for meth, weapons

Dennis Lawson, 52, was arrested Tuesday after police found meth and weapons in his home.

A seven-time convicted felon was arrested Tuesday and faces several possible drug-related charges after a seach of his home on Highway 133 near Dixon.

The Maries County SWAT team and the Lake Area Narcotics Enforcement Group arrested Dennis Lawson, 52, after finding items to make methamphetamines, drug paraphernalia and numerous weapons.

Lawson was arrested for Possession of Controlled Substance, Felony Unlawful use of Drug Paraphernalia, and for Felony Unlawful Possession of Firearms.

Lawson is a seven time convicted felon who is currently on probation.

Lawson was taken to the Maries County Jail where he is being held pending warrant application.
