One person suffered serious injuries in a crash on Highway 63
Tue, 11 Mar 2014 18:34:52 GMT — A man suffered serious injuries after a truck and SUV collided in Boone County Tuesday afternoon. Caroline Hargis, 76, of Centralia, was driving southwest on Route B in a Toyota Rav 4 when she turned left onto Highway 63 south, and hit a Dodge Ram, driven by Michael Jones, 49, of Fulton. Police say Hargis failed to yield to while turning into the intersection causing a t-bone crash. The Columbia Fire Department extricated both Hargis and her husband Jack Hargis, 80, from the Toyota, and transported Mr. Hargis to University Hospital with serious injuries. Mrs. Hargis suffered minor injuries. They were both wearing seatbelts. Jones received minor injuries and it is unknown if he was wearing a seatbelt.
