Sandra Plunkett formally sentenced for husband's murder

Callaway County Judge Gary Oxenhandler formally sentenced Sandra Plunkett to life in prison without parole for the first degree murder of her husband, Paul, on New Year's day 0f 2011.
Mon, 03 Mar 2014 16:33:39 GMT — A Holts Summit woman convicted of killing her husband was given her final sentence Monday morning.Callaway County Judge Gary Oxenhandler formally sentenced Sandra Plunkett to life in prison without parole for the first degree murder of her husband, Paul, on New Year's day 0f 2011.Plunkett was also given a seven year sentence for armed criminal action in the death to run concurrently to her life in prison sentence. In January a jury found Sandra Plunkett guilty of both first degree murder and armed criminal action for shooting and killing Paul as he lay in his hospital bed in their Holts Summit home.Judge Oxenhandler rejected Plunkett's attorney's motion for a new trial.
