Hundreds of Mid-Missourians gathered on Saturday morning for the Jefferson City Roadrunners' 2013 Run for Dignity in memory of Tess Cleary 5K Run and Walk.
In addition to its obvious fitness benefits, the event raised money for St. Mary's Cancer Services through the St. Mary's Foundation.
Participants said the event is a great way to remember those who lost their lives to cancer.
The Run for Dignity is a way to memorialize cancer victims and help other patients receive exceptional, compassionate cancer care in the Capital City.
Race Director John Weghorst said, "All running events are good for the community. It's a good way to promote health and everything that we have going on here is to make running a more enjoyable avenue."
A trophy and wine basket was awarded to the top three male and female runners and walkers.
