A man wanted for robbing a Jefferson City store at gunpoint has been arrested in Chicago.

Police said Korderoe James, 23, was arrested at his home in Chicago Wednesday night.

He was wanted locally for robbing the Family Dollar Store on Madison Street and the Best Western Hotel on Christy Drive.

Police said they had a lead on where the suspect was living, and turned the information over to Chicago police.

They believe James was staying with friends in Jefferson City and moved around a lot and changed his name to avoid being caught.

"I was starting to get a little concerned when he had gone back to the same place twice within a couple weeks, so we're glad to have him off the street, Jefferson City Police Department Capt. Mike Smith said.

James was also wanted for two warrants in Illinois.
