Crews will return to work this week on road construction projects throughout the KRCG 13 viewing area.
Residents of some east Columbia neighborhoods will need to find alternate routes after MoDOT closes the Route WW bridge over the Hominy Branch Monday night. A bridge rehabilitation project there will take until late August to finish. Drivers should also expect lane closures on the Route WW bridge over U.S. 63, although that bridge will not be completely closed to traffic.
Contractors plan to install guardrails and signs at the J-turn installed on U.S. 63 at Peterson and Liberty lanes in Ashland. The left southbound lane will be closed when crews are working in this area. Workers will continue filling in the eastern roundabout at the Route Y/M bridge and pave the curb and gutter at the western roundabout. Further to the south, crews will continue repaving the highway, gradually working their way north to Columbia.
Crews will mill the northbound and southbound lanes on Providence Road between Business Loop 70 and Stadium Boulevard. This will require lane closures at night.
