Right now I TMm looking at the weather here in Holts Summit| it TMs 99 degrees, but it feels like 108. Talk about the dog days of summer!
It really makes you think back and wish for those cooler days of fall and winter. But in case you TMve already forgotten, here TMs a flashback to February|
Remember that blizzard? Roads blocked or covered for weeks, classes cancelled, snow drifts EVERYWHERE. I don TMt know about you guys, but I TMm not ready for that again. However, it is kinda nice to think about something nice and cold while dealing with this blistering heat.
For me, the blizzard meant 2 nights at the hotel down the street, away from my bed, boyfriend, and of course Milo and Bailey.
We only had Milo for a month at this point, so he was still a little puppy. I remember talking to my boyfriend on the phone about taking him out into the snow for the first time. I felt like a mom missing one of her kids TM firsts.
It was Milo TMs first snowfall| and he didn TMt take it too well. Since he was so small, and the snow drifts so big, he had a hard time getting around. Eventually he made tracks in the snow and stuck to them| and he picked a certain spot to do his business.
The news person/photographer in me wanted to get lots of pictures of the snowfall on MU TMs campus so I thought it would be a great opportunity to take Milo out for an adventure. Now that I think about it, it might have been our very first adventure.
I loaded him up in the car and off we went! Once on campus, we didn TMt get too far before students and families swooned around the 3-month-old puppy. To say the least, Milo was a big hit with everyone he came across! However, with all the distractions and people it was hard to get him to focus and look at the camera!
We walked all over campus| from the J-School| to Jesse| Memorial| and the Tiger statue. I was worried his little paws would get too cold, but he held up just fine!
At one point I thought it would be super cute to put him on the Columns for a picture. I TMm so glad I did!
It turned out to be some of my favorite pictures I TMve taken of him so far! It even spurred a bet between me and my boyfriend. I TMll have to share that story and picture later this week...
I took a TON of pictures of Milo on campus. You can check out those photos here.
Milo hasn TMt been back to MU for a walk since then. I think it TMs time we take another trip| this time with much warmer weather and maybe some flowers instead of snowflakes!
Stay tuned for more!
