Remains believed to be those of missing 72-year-old woman

Authorities believe remains found in Benton County are those of Hellen Cook.

Remains found in Benton County are believed to be those of a 72-year-old Buckner woman missing for nearly a month.

The Benton County Sheriff's Office says the remains were found in an area of prior interest near a lake where personal items belonging to Hellen Cook were found.

The identity of the remains will be pending until a DNA test comparison is done.

Cook walked away from her Benton County home on July 13. She suffers from Alzheimers.

The family has positively identified items found with the remains as belonging to Cook.

The Benton County Sheriffâ??s Office and the Cook family would like to thank thehundreds of volunteers who gave their time and resources in the search for Hellen Cook.
