Missourians will cast votes on whom to add to the state Capitol's Hall of Famous Missourians.
The hall is a collection of bronze busts and has generally honored people chosen by the House speaker, but House Speaker Tim Jones is calling for a public vote for two new honorees. Voting starts Monday and is open through Oct. 31.
Ten finalists for inclusion in the hall were selected based largely on the number of nominations submitted this summer. Finalists include composer and music educator Claude Smith and Andrew Taylor Still, who is credited as the father of osteopathic medicine.
In addition to the two people selected by the public, Jones plans to select a third person for induction.
