A former Catholic priest accused of sexually abusing young boys has been brought back to Missouri.

Gerald Howard faces charges in Cooper County of sexually abusing parishioners in Boonville.

Howard was a priest there in the 1980's, and used the name Father Carmine Sita.

He most recently lived in New Jersey.

Last week, Essex County, New Jersey Prosecutors finalized the plans to extradite Howard.

He was brought to Missouri by car with two Cooper County deputies late Friday night.

His first court appearance is a formal arraignment now scheduled for May 24th.
