Overnight storms Thursday left thousands without power in Kansas City and St. Louis, but in central Missouri, major outages were scattered, with most affected electric customers in the Hallsville and Centralia areas.
According to Ameren Missouri, as of 8:45 Thursday morning, 352 customers were without power in Centralia and 721 in Hallsville.
Ameren says crews are working both locations and power is expected to be restored by mid-morning at the latest.
In Columbia, over 500 customers were without power for a brief time, mostly due to overnight lightning strikes, but all power was restored at 8:45.
In St. Louis, nearly 21,000 customers lost power due to the storms, while in Kansas City, that number was just under 1,600.
