Power back on for hundreds in south Callaway
NEW BLOOMFIELD —
Approximately 1,467 customers of Callaway Electric were without power Wednesday evening, most located in the Holts Summit area.
Jeremiah Strode, a Member Service Advisor for Callaway Electric, said the problem was that the company's power supplier, Central Electric in Jefferson City, had a blown fuse, cutting off power to Callaway, a member cooperative. An outage map indicated that the outage region encompassed most of the southern tip of the county. Only one customer on the Tebbets substation was reported as being without power, and only one on the Carrington substation.
Strode said that as of 9:15 all or most of Callaway Electric's customers should be back on line.
