Pot found packaged for sale, four arrested

We now know the identities of two of the four people arrested in a drug bust in Jefferson City Wednesday.

Shelle Smith and Akeem Paschal, both 28 years old were arrested after a narcotics investigation turned up drugs and stolen property.Original Story:

The Jefferson City Police Department arrested four people after a narcotics investigation turned up drugs and stolen property.On Tuesday, Jefferson City Police Department Narcotics Detectives served a search warrant in the 1000 block of Elizabeth Street.Officers said they found more than five ounces of marijuana that had been packaged for sale.Officers also seized various narcotics packaging materials, distribution materials and two handguns, one of which was stolen in Jefferson City. Four Jefferson City residents were arrested on various drug and firearm charges. Those arrested were between the ages of 28 and 38.

The two weapons recovered were a stolen 9mm handgun, and a .380 semi-automatic pistol.

There were three children present at the time of the search warrant, and they were turned over to a relative living nearby.

Those arrested were taken to Cole County Jail, pending charges.
