Police: Suspect arrested after deleting texts connected to incidents leading to homicide
Police announced Tuesday they had arrested a man in connection to a weekend homicide.
Columbia police stated Ewayne Marteen, 34, was taken into custody on suspicion of tampering with physical evidence. In a release, police stated Marteen, of Columbia, had deleted text messages from his phone that were connected to incidents leading up to the shooting that led to Nathan Taylor's death Friday night.
Officers arrested Marteen Monday morning at 10:55 in the 1800 block of McKee Street for a felony warrant, the release stated.
He was booked into the Boone County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
