Police search for man involved in Columbia hit-and-run

Police are looking for the person who fled from the scene of a car crash Tuesday night.
Columbia Police said the crash happened a little after 6:00 p.m. near the intersection of Ash Street and Ridgeway Avenue.
Police said a 1999 Ford F-150 was traveling westbound on Ash Street at a high rate of speed. A second car was stopped at the stop sign on Ridgeway at Ash. When the second car went to turn left onto Ash, the two cars collided. The driver of the Ford F-150 fled the scene.
The driver of the second car, along with all the passengers had to be extricated by Columbia fire crews. The driver, 43 year-old Lynna Relford-Jones, and her passengers: 27-year-old Altamese White, along with an 8 year old and an 8 month old were all taken by EMS personnel to University Hospital for serious injuries. Police said Altamese White was the only one in the car wearing a seat belt.
The suspect was described by witnesses as an Hispanic male, 5'8" to 5'10", thin to medium build, wearing a white t-shirt and had some sort of injury to his head as he was bleeding. He was last seen running away from the accident.
