Police make arrest in case of thefts from Jefferson City vehicles

Police made an arrest in connection to a string of thefts from vehicles in Jefferson City.

Mark Yarbrough, 23, of Jefferson City, was arrested on suspicion of felony theft and felon in possession of a firearm, according to a press release.

Police said they have received numerous reports of thefts from vehicles in Jefferson City. A press release stated all items stolen were from unlocked vehicles, specifically in the Eastwood/Brookdale area, as well as on Satinwood Drive.

Officers developed several leads, and members of JCPD’s Patrol Section worked with Detectives and the Community Action Team to establish potential suspect information, the release stated.

A search warrant in the 200 block of Benton Street Thursday at 4 p.m. resulted in obtaining stolen multiple items, along with one of the stolen handguns, a Taurus pistol. Additionally, police found keys to one of the stolen vehicles at that location, and Yarbrough was arrested for the thefts.
