Police say they are investigating a shots-fired incident on the south side of Columbia Sunday.
Police were called to th 3900 block of Peachtree Drive just after midnight after getting a report of shots fired and several vehicles leaving the area. Officers found several shell casings and gunfire damage to a business. No injuries were reported and no suspect descriptions are available.
Police spokesman Sgt. Joe Bernhard said an officer sustained minor injuries when he crashed while responding to the call. Bernhard said the officer was treated and released from the hospital. He said as far as he knew, the officer was not in pursuit at the time.
