Columbia police have released the name of the 16-year-old girl found dead at a Columbia motel. Morgan Myers was reported missing early last month.
Officers found her body at the Providence Inn and Suites Motel at the corner of Providence Road and Vandiver Drive shortly before 6 a.m. Thursday morning, after they received an anonymous phone call to 911.
The unidentified male caller told police he found an unconscious girl in his room and then hung up. "The way the call came in and the details and the circumstances that they found there, led them to believe it wasn't a natural death," says Columbia Police Sgt. Joseph Bernhard. "It wasn't from natural causes. They are investigating that as a homicide."
