Jefferson City Police are still looking for a man reported to have jumped off the Missouri River Bridge December 12.
The caller who contacted police said they hadn't seen the man jump off the bridge, but they believed he may have done so.
Police are searching for 21-year-old Randy C. Chugg, of Jefferson City. An investigation revealed that Chugg left his home after an argument with his girlfriend in which he said he was going to jump off the bridge. Shortly after he left, his girlfriend witnessed Chugg standing on the pedestrian walkway of the bridge, but when she went to talk to him she couldn't find him.
Chugg's personal items were found on the walkway. Jefferson City Fire and Missouri Highway Patrol responded to the scene and searched the river but couldn't locate Chugg.
At this time, police are investigating the incident as a missing person case. They will conduct further searches of the river when it is safe to do so.
