A Sedalia man remains at large after escaping from the Pettis County jail late Thursday. 29-year-old Brandon McGee escaped by dismantling some plumbing in the shower room and escaping through the hole into a service corridor that led to an exit.
Captain Dave Keller of the Pettis County Sheriff's Department said McGee was serving time for a probation violation when he escaped. He said McGee would "most likely" serve more time for the escape than for his original sentence. "It's a pretty stupid thing for him to have done," he said.
Keller said McGee poses little threat to the public, and he said he is confident McGee will be recaptured. "You can run, but you can't hide, we're going to get you," he said.
