Osage County Sheriff's trial moved to St. Louis County

An Osage County judge approved Sheriff Michael Dixon's request to move his trial to St. Louis County.

Sheriff Michael Dixon will be tried in St. Louis County after a judge approved his attorney's change of venue request.

The Osage County Sheriff was arraigned Thursday morning on a felony charge of tampering with a motor vehicle. That's in addition to misdemeanor charges of first-degree sexual misconduct, third-degree assault, harassment and stalking.

Dixon pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The tampering charge carries a sentence of up to seven years while the sexual misconduct, harassment and stalking charges each carry a sentence of up to one year. The charges stem from a complaint the Maries County Sheriff received in July 2013. Dixon pleaded not guilty to those charges in October.
