A man is recovering after an assault and attempted robbery near Coats Street early Sunday morning.
Police say a man was walking from the downtown area sometime between 4:40 and 5:40 a.m. when someone approached him and demanded his wallet. When the man refused, the suspect hit him with a bottle before running away. The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Nothing was taken from him.
Police do not have a clear description of the suspect and ask anyone with information about the crime to call Crime Stoppers at 875-TIPS.
