A new home sales statistics report for Columbia said October 2012 was the best in the last 5 years according to the Columbia Board of Realtors.
Thatâ??s while U.S. sales of previously occupied homes rose solidly in October, helped by improvement in the job market and cheap mortgages.
The National Association of Realtors said sales rose 2.1 percent to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 4.79 million. That's up from 4.69 million in September, which was revised lower.
The total number of home sales for January through October 2012 in Columbia was 1,629.
While statistics for November and December arenâ??t available the Columbia Board of Realtors said â??2012 has already toppled 2011â??s grand total of 1,514 single family homes sold in a 12-month period.â??
