National Weather Service confirms straight line Wind Damage

A survey team from the National Weather Service in Springfield has determined that straight line winds caused the damage in Osage County. There were several large limbs blown down as well as large trees uprooted on the north side of Meta. The winds in this area are estimated between 60-80 mph.

Two miles north of Meta there was a farm outbuilding with roof damage. The east side of the roof was lifted off and deposited on the north side of the building. Wind speeds in this location were estimated around 70 mph.
