Shots erupted without warning when a man walked into a large group of people early Thursday morning.
The gunfire went off at the eastern end of the pedestrian bridge that crosses Providence Road. There was multiple shell casings found on the stairs of the walkway, along with other pieces of evidence. The shooter is believed to be a black male who fired multiple shots with a hand gun. There is no further suspect information at this time and no arrests have been made.
Seven or eight shots were fired at the scene, with another report of a gunshot victim near Trinity and Pendleton Street.
Officers found four gunshot victims with non-life threatening wounds. The four victims went to University Hospital Emergency Room. Three were males, aged 16, 18 and 19 years old, and a 19-year-old female.

Authorities are investigating multiple overnight shootings in Columbia near Douglas park.
The shootings reportedly happened at about 1:00 a.m.
Scanner reports say at least two victims were taken to the hospital.
While it's unclear exactly where the shootings happened, there was a heavy police presence at Trinity and Park, near the pedestrian bridge at Providence.
