Alcohol is believed to be a factor in a motorcycle crash that killed a 39-year-old man early Thursday morning in Columbia.
Columbia Police said Gabriel Small was driving a red 2005 Honda motorcycle west on Vandiver Drive near Wolcott Drive about 2:30 a.m. and lost control.
The bike began to skid and went down on the left side and eventually collided with the curb on the north side of the roadway.
Small's bike went off the road, continued to skid, and eventually crashed into a street sign and utility pole near the intersection.
Small was pinned against the pole and was pronounced dead at the scene.
