Motorcycle driver injured in Jefferson City accident

A motorcycle driver was injured in an accident in Jefferson City Saturday night.

The driver of a motorcycle sustained moderate injuries in an accident in Jefferson City Saturday night.

According to the Jefferson City Police Department, 49-year-old John Johnson was driving his motorcycle northbound on the 2300 block of Lorenzo Green Drive when he slowed down to make a left turn into a private driveway.

Police say 19-year-old Brett Vanloo was driving his Honda Civic behind the motorcycle, and was following the motorcycle too closely. Police say Vanloo crashed into the motorcycle as it slowed.

Johnson was taken to Capital Region Medical Center with moderate injuries.

Neither Vanloo nor the passenger on the motorcycle, 42-year-old Karie West, sustained injuries.
