      Mother enters plea for slashing baby's throat

      A Camdenton woman, accused of slashing her baby's throat and wrists entered an Alford Plea in Morgan County.Bradie Simpson admitted prosecutors have enough evidence to convict her of first degree assault Thursday.Simpson had been scheduled to go to trial before entering the plea in Morgan County which is where her case was transferred to from Camden County.She was arrested in February 2012 after her son reported his mother and his 9-month-old sister missing from their home.Searchers found Simpson sitting against a tree holding the wounded baby, who survived after surgery.Simpson had told a pastor months earlier she feared she would harm the child. The pastor said Simpson made references to demons.The minimum sentence for first-degree assault is 5-years in prison while the maximum sentence is 15-years in prison.Simpson is scheduled to be sentenced February 19th in Camden County.
