Morning fire destroys restaurant

No one was injured after the fire apparently started in the kitchen area.

A Monday morning fire at the Lake of the Ozarks caused serious damage to a restaurant.

Fire crews were called to Fired Up Barbeque on Bagnell Dam Boulevard around 4 a.m.

Officials said upon their arrival fifty-percent of the building was involved in the fire, and took until 6 a.m. to contain. Crews were on the scene until 11:30 a.m.

The Missouri State Fire Marshal was contacted to conduct an investigation. The cause appears to be defective equipment.

The building sustained significant damage, and will likely have to be torn down.

There were no injuries reported.

The Lake Ozark Fire District was assisted by Osage Beach Fire District, Rocky Mount Fire District, Sunrise Beach Fire District, Eldon Fire Department, Mid County Fire District, Moreau Fire District, Miller County Ambulance District and the Lake Ozark Police Department.
