Moped Pursuit ends badly for Fulton man

A 33 year old Fulton man is facing a slew of criminal charges after leading police on a moped pursuit early Saturday morning.

Police arrested Travis Michael Schroer for multiple traffic violations in the 800 block of Kay Drive around 12:15 a.m. Saturday. Police say they attempted to stop Schroer for traffic violations in the area of Bartley Lane near Mohawk.

When they tried to stop him, Schroer took off on his moped and led police on a short pursuit that ended when he wrecked out on the back yard of a home on Kay Drive.

Schroer fled on foot into the wooded area behind the home. Police located him in the woods and took him into custody shortly thereafter.

Schroer was charged with driving on a suspended driver's license, fail to yield to an emergency vehicle, failure to display lighted lamps when required, leaving the scene of a motor vehicle collision, resisting arrest, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Schroer was taken to the Callaway County Jail on a $9,000 bond.
