Police in Oregon arrested a Missouri man who left the state before he could be sentenced for raping a child.
Timothy Wayne Register was arrested after being tracked to a motel in Bend, Oregon.
He left Morgan County in October after cutting off the GPS bracelet he was required to wear following his conviction and prior to sentencing.
His escape came four days before he was to be sentenced for a conviction on charges of first-degree statutory rape, statutory sodomy and two counts of child molestation involving a victim under the age of 14.
The Morgan County Sheriffâ??s Office tells KRCG 13 a bail bondsman contacted law enforcement about his possible whereabouts and Bend Police made the arrest.
Register will be extradited back to Missouri with the next two to three weeks.
